«Where will I put my tricolor jersey? I have a hanger in my room with all the ones I've won. Of course, I need to find a special place for this one».
This is the first statement of U19 Giorgia Pellizotti (pictured by Alessio Pederiva) after graduating in Tabiano Terme as Italian champion in the cross-country specialty: for her, this is her first national title in the mountain bike specialty.
«I had already won the title among the U17s in cyclocross; now comes this success in mountain biking; I'm really happy and proud of the path I'm taking with the team».
A path that allowed her to win in the season 2025 the Internazionali d'Italia and reach the podium in the Italian road championships (3rd), in the short track specialty (2nd) and the silver medal in the Italian cyclocross championships in January. A series of podiums that only lacked the top step. But at the start, the athlete trained by Luca Bramati seemed very calm.«Yesterday I felt really good; I was confident I could live a great day and that I only had to focus on my own performance. That's what happened. Now I can't wait to show off this jersey at the European Championships, taking place in Portugal next week».
This isn't the first time the Trinx Factory Team has won the Italian Championship among the U19s women:it already happened three years ago, when Valentina Corvi won in Valle di Casies.
Returning to Giorgia's next appointment, the MTB European Championships, she will be joined by her teammates and national teammates Lucia Bramati and Pietro Cao,both fifth at the Italian Championships.
Lucia sailed in third position for a long time, only to lose two places in the final lap. The race of the U19s fared differently: Pietro suffered for a physical decline in the second lap, losing the the wheels of the best bikers, but he was able to rejoining the leaders with a furious comeback that, however, was not enough to take a medal.
These performances, however, confirm their good shape, which they will show off at the upcoming continental event. At the Italian Championship the Trinx Factory Team lined up also Flavio Dispensa, who finished 42nd among the U19s, Alice Pascucci, Under 23 Lorenzo Checchin, 49th, and elite Cristian Bernardi, who finished 12th after a heart-pounding race in which he fought for a top 10 finishuntil the final lap.
«We can only be happy with this Italian Championship», confirms Luca Bramati. «All the athletes did their best, and that's what matters. And another jersey arrived, another wonderful chapter in our young story that began in 2020. A story that will be further enhanced next week, when we will have four athletes at the European Championships. In short, we're happy, the bikers are happy, and, not to be underestimated, the Trinx management is happy».
