Last year the journey to Araxá had already given her one of the greatest satisfactions of the season. And this year too, the tropical forests and red clay trails of the Brazilian locality have enhanced the skills of Lucia Bramati, capable for the first time in her career of achieving a top 10 in the short track race of a World Cup stage (in the photo by Maxime Schmid, the athlete of the Trinx Factory Team in action).
Spectacular performance by the Under 23 rider from Vicenza, capable of guessing a good start and maintaining the pace of the best for all 20 minutes of a race that was, as always, spectacular and heart-pounding, won by Canadian Isabella Holmgren. A result that, in addition to enriching the sporting curriculum of the Trinx Factory Team athlete, will guarantee her a second-row starting position for the Olympic cross country race, scheduled for Sunday, April 6 at 9 am (2 pm in Italy). Also in the race will be the Belgian Sverre Van Lee, who will debut in the World Cup in the Under 23 category. In this case, the 2005 athlete will start at 11 am local time, which is 4 pm in Italy.
Cheering from Italy will be the two teammates, the young athletes of the team managed by Luca Bramati, who on Saturday in Maser participated in the third stage of the Italia Bike Cup circuit. And the Treviso event also brought joy to the team, with two podiums for the U19s Giorgia Pellizzotti and Pietro Cao (in the archive photo by Alessio Pederiva).
Giorgia, after five consecutive victories in as many races, crossed the finish line in secondposition, behind Nicole Azzetti: a placement that allows her to defend the leader's jersey in the circuit among the Under 19s. Second place also for Pietro Cao, who after coming close at Argentario, crowned this initial part of the season by stepping onto the podium for the first time since competing among the juniors.
Twelfth place for Alice Pascucci, while Flavio Dispensa was forced to retire.
