A delightful confirmation from Lucia Bramati; a splendid first time for the young Sverre Van Lee.
After the day dedicated to the short track, which gave Lucia Bramati her first top 10 in the World Cup, the Trinx Factory Team lives another beautiful Sunday, putting in the archive two comforting results for the coming weeks.
In the Women's Under 23 Olympic Cross Country race, Lucia Bramati (in the photo by Maxime Schmid) crossed the finish line in twelfth position, her best placing in this specialty, while the Belgian Sverre Van Lee, making his debut on the World Cup stage, finished 25th.
«I'm quite happy with what I did today», confirms Lucia Bramati. «I had excellent sensations, but in the last two laps I paid for the effort and the heat. I held on, bringing home a good result, which goes hand in hand with the one obtained yesterday in the short track».
Two results that follow up on the good performances obtained in international events in Italy.
«The work we are doing is paying off and week after week I am noticing improvements; this is the aspect that makes me most proud and that gives me confidence for next week».
Next week will see the athletes of the Trinx Factory Team still engaged in Araxa, for the second act of the Mtb World Cup. And the Belgian Under 23 Sverre Van Lee will also be at the start: his debut among the Under 23s was amazing, with a final 25th position, second among the boys born in 2006.
«I can only be satisfied with this race», confirms the Belgian U19 champion of 2024.
«As a first-year U23 rider, achieving a top 25 on debut is no small feat. Everyone is going very strong and as soon as you lift your foot off the accelerator you lose positions. That's why I'm happy: despite the heat and the high level of the race, I held on, riding at my own pace from start to finish».
