The summer break did not take away the brilliance of Giorgia Pellizotti and Cristian Bernardi, who in the space of three days climbed onto the podium on Thursday evening in Bibione and today between Lugagnano Vald'Arda and Volpago del Montello.
On August 28th, at the Xc Bibione By Night, the two athletes directed by Luca Bramati achieved a first and a second place: the winner was the new Italian champion (in the archive photo by Alessio Pederiva), who won the Under 19 race. Second place for the 23-year-old from Treviso, behind Federico Ceolin.
Today in Lugagnano, Giorgia Pellizotti placed second behind Elisa Ferri in the final stage of the Italia Bike Cup circuit. The young biker finished the circuit second in the general ranking. Also in the province of Piacenza, Pietro Cao had an unlucky day, finishing seventh in the U19 race won by Ettore Fabbro after a comeback due to a puncture.
At the Montel Bike Marathon, Cristian Bernardi (archive photo by Maxime Schmid) engaged in a thrilling duel for the win with Nicholas Pettinà, finishing in second place with a time of 3 hours, 25 minutes, and 34 seconds. It was a unique performance for Cristian, accustomed to cross-country, but it confirmed his good condition.
It has been a challenging Sunday also for the two athletes competing in Les Gets for the seventh round of the World Cup.
After the 19th place in the short track two days ago, Lucia Bramati (pictured by Maxime Schmid) finished 22nd in the Under-23 women's Olympic cross-country race. This placing keeps her in sixteenth place in the overall standings of the most important international circuit.
Sixtieth place went to the team's other Under-23 competitor, Sverre Van Lee.Despite an unfortunate start, the belgian biker was able to recover 26 places to secure the final result.
