Lucia Bramati's pursuit of the top 100 in the world, crucial for her move to the Elite category in 2026, began with a 17th place in the short track race in Lenzerheide, home to the eighth and third-to-last stage of the MTB World Series.

The 22-year-old Trinx Factory Team athlete (in the photo by Maxime Schmid), fresh from the World Championships in Crans Montana, confirmed her affinity for the "short race" specialty, where she already achieved a top 10 finish this year in Araxa, Brazil. And the Italian biker also came close to a breakthrough in Switzerland.

In addition to her usual excellent start, Lucia led the small group that was battling for the spots in the top 10, just behind the leading group. In the final lap, the Italian even managed to gain a few meters on her direct rivals, but in the final descent sector, the athlete with whom she was leading the attack made a couple of errors that allowed their closest pursuers to catch them back. In the end, the sprint relegated Lucia to 17th place, 7" from tenth place; a placement that still allows her to remain among the best 15 Under 23s in the world in short track: in the World Cup rankings, the Italian occupies 14th place.

Furthermore, this performance can give her confidence in view of the Xco race, scheduled scheduled for Sunday at 9am.
