Despite a treacherous track due to rain and mud, despite the fierce competition typical of World Cup competitions and despite the excitement of racing on home soil, Antonia Grangl delivered a superb performance today, finishing 25th in the short track in Leogang, home of the MTB World Series 2026 third round. In the Under 23 race, the 18-year-old (pictured by Piper Albrecht) started at the back of the pack, finding the right lines and showing great pace to move up about 20 positions and then defend her spot among the top 25 in the world. Antonia was the fifth athlete born in 2007 in the finishing order, demonstrating the solidity of her performance.

Laura Squarise, however, struggled to find her footing on the course and finished 29th. It's important, however, that the italian athlete didn't slip or fall, especially in light of Sunday's Olympic Cross Country races.

Among the bikers starting on Sunday will be three members of the Trinx Factory Team. The first to set off at 8:30 a.m. will be Under-23s Laura Squarise and Antonia Grangl. At 11:55 a.m., it will be Lucia Bramati's turn, competing in the Elite Women's race.
