It will be difficult for Zoe Del Ponte forget the weekend in La Salle. The Trinx Factory Team‘s young biker, 24 hours after winning the bronze medal at the Italian Short Track Championship, today finished second in the Olympic Cross Country race, the sixth round of the Youth circuit of the Italia Bike Cup Chaoyang.

A placing that allows her to climb to eighth place in the overall ranking among the athletes born in 2011 (with only three participations in the six races competed), but above all another good performance that gives her confidence ahead of the summer appointments.

Also competing in the Valle d’Aosta location was Thobias Del Ponte, Zoe's older brother, who finished sixteenth in the Under 19 race.

Moving to Veneto, Under 23 Pietro Cao and Under 19 Flavio Dispensa competed today.

Cao took part in the Dolomiti XC Memorial Maurizio Da Rin Zanco, a Belluno competition held in Laggio Vigo di Cadore, achieving eighth place in the Open race won by Martino Zavan: Pietro, who yesterday finished third in the Italian stage of the City Mountainbike Eliminator Series in Pieve di Soligo, finished fifth among the U23s.

In Monselice, Flavio Dispensa took part in the Monselice in Rosa Mtb International, finishing eleventh in the 42 km course, seventh among the athletes in his category.

It was also a Sunday on the bike for Lucia Bramati and Laura Squarise who, although not competing, will remain in Valle d’Aosta today and tomorrow, more precisely in La Thuile, where the Italian national team is currently holding a training camp in view of the World Cup stage, scheduled in the Aosta Valley ski resort from 3 to 5 July.
